This recipe caters for chocolate and banana lovers. It offers greater variation as compared to regular Belgian waffles since the bananas and chocolate ingredients add a distinctive flavor, color and moisture.

  • 3 Eggs separated
  • 6 teaspoons Golden Syrup
  • 1.5 cups Milk
  • 1.5 cups Baking Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 8 teaspoons Cocoa
  • ½ stick Butter melted
  • 3 Bananas fresh
  1. Beat the separated egg whites until soft peaks form
  2. In a separate large bowl, beat the egg yolks and mix with the golden syrup
  3. Add milk, melted butter and all other dry ingredients
  4. Add egg whites and mix thoroughly
  5. Heat a non-stick surface waffle iron
  6. When hot enough, cover the surface with a spoonful of the mixture
  7. Close the lid and cook until the steaming ceases
  8. Keep the waffles in a warm oven while slicing the bananas for topping
  9. Serve while hot with drizzled golden syrup and sliced bananas
